Auto-tags let you automatically categorize invoices based on which inbox they’re submitted through.
What are auto-tags?
Auto-tags are labels automatically applied to every invoice submitted through a specific inbox. They help you:
- Organize invoices by source
- Filter and search more effectively
- Route invoices to the right team
- Generate reports by category
Setting up auto-tags
- Go to Inboxs in the sidebar
- Click on the inbox you want to configure
- Find the Auto-tags section
- Add tags (e.g., “Chicago”, “Q4-2025”, “Project-X”)
- Save your changes
Tag format
- Tags are simple text labels
- Use lowercase with hyphens for consistency
- Keep them short and meaningful
- Examples:
chicago,marketing,priority,project-alpha
